Data protection

West Green House will not collect any personally identifiable information about you (i.e. your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address) unless you provide it to us voluntarily.

Given that the Internet is a global environment, using the Internet to collect and process personal data necessarily involves the transmission of data on an international basis. Therefore, by browsing this website and communicating electronically with us, you acknowledge and agree to our processing of personal data in this way.

In some cases, we may collect information about you that is not personally identifiable. This type of information includes the type of Internet browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using, and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our site.

At West Green House Opera we take the care of the data we hold on our audience very seriously. We are happy to comply with the forthcoming GDPR legislation and hope the following statement reassures anyone who has booked tickets to our Opera Season since 2015 that their data is carefully protected.

We currently hold names, postal addresses (with postcodes), telephone numbers and email addresses for those who have attended the opera since 2015. If this data has been supplied by you on a booking form, it is held in a locked cabinet in a locked office within the secure premises of West Green House. If it has been supplied by you via our online Box Office system, it is fully encrypted and only chosen personnel have access to the Box Office system. The Box Office can only be accessed through password-protected computers and the security on these computers is updated every 28 days. The computers are located in locked offices and no data is held on personal computers. Our Box Office system is run by Ticketsolve one of the most reputable providers of secure software, with whom the opera has a separate contract to ensure protection of all customer data.

Any credit card information submitted via the Box Office system is deleted as soon as the transaction has been processed. Any credit card information submitted via a booking form is redacted as soon as the transaction has been completed. Booking forms are held securely as described above.

We use the data you give us only to promote the opera at West Green House. We never share your data with anyone and we will never sell on any data or mailing information. We use your data to inform you of the activities at West Green House Opera and occasionally to ask for your support to fund the charitable aims of the Opera, to support emerging artists at the start of their musical careers.

You are welcome to remove your data from our records at any time. You can do this by clicking ‘Unsubscribe’ in the top left hand corner of our newsletters (like this one) or by calling us on 01252 848676 and conveying your instructions verbally. You can also confirm your instructions by email to info@westgreenhouseopera.co.uk.

We will keep your data indefinitely via the safe methods described above unless you instruct us to do otherwise. This policy applies to all activities undertaken by West Green House Opera for the forseeable future and forms part of the terms and conditions which apply to all our activities.
