Opera Gala: Orchestra Announced!

We are very excited to welcome the Orchestra of English National Opera to West Green House this season! ENO’s Orchestra will join us for our Opera Gala, a fabulous celebration of operatic highlights from across the repertoire. 

The award-winning Orchestra of ENO is renowned for the versatility of its repertoire spanning four centuries, providing the musical landscape and emotion for ENO productions.

For this special Gala Performance, ENO Orchestra will be conducted by John Andrews, one of our most sought after young British conductors and a firm favourite on our stage here at West Green.

About the Opera Gala

For the third year running, West Green House Opera will present a Gala Evening with the thrill of a full orchestra showcasing a programme of great opera highlights, with guest soloists of international standing.

With the enchanting West Front of West Green House, where the busts of Gods and Emperors look down from the high walls forming the backdrop to the Opera Pavilion, this is a stunning setting for an evening of excellent music and song.

Winner of the Dame Joan Sutherland Audience Prize at Cardiff Singer of the World, British mezzo-soprano Katie Bray has become known for her magnetic stage presence and gleaming, expressive tone: “Katie Bray’s Rosina, who sets off sparks at the top and bottom of her voice and plays the role as a deliciously skittish “live wire”, a classic screen goddess” Richard Fairman, Financial Times.

Katie first captivated audiences at West Green House Opera in 2024’s Barber of Seville.

Jenny Stafford is now firmly established as one of the brightest young talents on the UK opera stage. In March 2018, she made her major house debut, with Dutch National Opera, as Sarah in James MacMillan’s Clemency.

Jenny has sung with us in multiple seasons, and is remembered most recently for her unforgettable portrayal of Suor Angelica.
