Perhaps opera’s most gripping thriller, Puccini’s masterpiece, “Tosca” is a tale of passion, power, jealousy and betrayal where the action unfolds in Rome over a period of just twenty four hours.
The vicious and corrupt Chief of Police, Scarpia, is a sadistic cat and mouse game with the famous diva, the tempestuous Floria Tosca, presenting her with the impossible choice of giving herself to this loathsome degenerate or of watching her lover, Cavaradossi, be tortured and executed on trumped up charges of crimes against the State.
Directed for West Green House Opera by acclaimed Australian Director, Suzanne Chaundy, who comes to us fresh from her triumph with Melbourne Opera’s production of Wagner’s monumental Ring Cycle, we are proud to be associated with Suzanne’s UK debut.

The gardens will be open two hours before the performance starts
There will be an interval of 1 hour and 10 minutes after Act 2
The opera will end at approximately 10.15pm (Saturday) and 9.15pm (Sunday)
