Offenbach’s Robinson Crusoe – In Concert
High jinks whilst marooned on the high seas on our very own desert island!
Acclaimed director Thomas Guthrie brings us a concert staging of Offenbach’s 1867 version of Robinson Crusoe.
Sung in English and loosely based on Daniel Defoe’s classic, Robinson Crusoe is the tale of a hopeless romantic who runs away to sea only to be shipwrecked. His fiancée Edwige and her two servants set out to find him and themselves fall into trouble involving drunken pirates and waltzing cannibals. With delightful tunes and not a small hint of political chaos, join us for an evening of fun and much-needed belly laughs!

“A contender for the most beautiful summer opera venue in the country just got more beautiful!”
